LAND-ROVER is Originally the vehicles produced by the Rover Company were known simply as the ‘Land Rover’. However, as the Land Rover brand gained recognition, the ‘Series’ designation was added to differentiate between different models. In 1970, the Range Rover was introduced, and in 1978, the company became a subsidiary of British Leyland. It wasn’t until 1983 and 1984 that the long and short wheelbase Land Rovers were officially named the One Ten and Ninety, respectively. In 1990, they were collectively branded as the Defender models, following the introduction of the new Discovery model in 1989.
